Unbelievably, “Ted Lasso” will finally return for a third season.
On March 15, Jason Sudeikis' soccer- and optimism-inspired comedy on Apple TV+ will return for a third season. Additionally, Apple has produced a teaser trailer for the upcoming episodes. The wait was really long. The last time “Lasso” viewers watched brand-new episodes was in October 2021. The show centers on a suavely brash American football coach (Sudeikis) who moves to the world of British professional soccer. What does “Ted Lasso” involve?
The charismatic comedy on Apple TV+ has Sudeikis as the titular American football coach trying to manage an English soccer team. The character Sudeikis developed to advertise NBC's broadcasts of Premier League soccer events served as the inspiration for the television series. After a contentious divorce from her wealthy husband Rupert (Anthony Head), Rebecca (Hannah Waddingham), the new owner of the Richmond squad, hires Ted, everyone, including Rebecca, first thinks Ted won't succeed. Nonetheless, he turns out to be a stronger mentor and coach for the men on his squad than anyone could have anticipated.
By the end of Season 2, Ted has assisted his team in returning to the Premier League after being demoted for a season, but he's also lost one of his assistant coaches and friends, Nate (Nick Mohammed), who left Richmond to take the helm of Rupert's new powerhouse team, West Ham United, as a result of his animosity towards Ted.
