Tuna Recall: Sold at Costco, Walmart & More Due to Botulism Risk! Check Details Now
Its quality and safety could be jeopardized by a manufacturing flaw.
Tri-Union Seafoods is recalling canned tuna that is marketed under the Genova, Van Camp’s, H-E-B, and Trader Joe’s brands, per a press statement issued on February 7. The recall was started when Tri-Union Seafoods’ supplier informed them that the “easy open” pull tab lids on the cans had a manufacturing flaw that could compromise the products’ seal and potentially contaminate the tuna with the potentially deadly food poisoning clostridium botulinum, also known as botulism.
