Rory Sloane Predicts Carlton Loss on Good Friday
As teams are ready to prepare after the Gather week, our AFL experts have recorded their advice for week six.
The round begins with Brisbane and Collingwood, a rematch of the 2023 grand final, playing their now-customary Easter Thursday encounter at the Gabba.
Last year, the Pies prevailed in both of their meetings, but the defending champions go into this match unbeaten after five rounds.
Good Friday’s main matchup is between North Melbourne and Carlton, and the Roos’ pace and youth might completely ruin the Blues’ season. Carlton’s problems will be exacerbated by the absence of important forwards Harry McKay and Brodie Kemp.
Despite facing a Fremantle team it hasn’t defeated since 2022, Melbourne is just itching for a victory. Recently, the Dees in Alice Springs, Melbourne, and Perth have been owned by the Dockers.
When Adelaide hosts GWS on Saturday, it has some work to do. The Crows need a scalp since they have lost close games to strong teams in the past two weeks.
The Bombers will want to defeat the winless West Coast, while the Suns will want to put Richmond away soon.
In the finals series last year, Sydney finally ended its losing streak against Port Adelaide; nevertheless, the Power had previously defeated them eight times in a row, including a 100-point thumping late in the 2024 season.
Ahead of the Easter Monday matchup between Geelong and Hawthorn, the Bulldogs and Saints are given the limelight on Sunday night.
While the Cats are once again looking like contenders, the Hawks will be trying to bounce back from their disappointing Gather Round loss to Port Adelaide.
