Mark Poynton earns a Michelin star for Caistor Hall in Norfolk!
A renowned Michelin star has been given to a restaurant at a country home hotel close to Norwich.
Glasgow’s Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum announced this year’s complete Michelin Guide on Monday night.
Restaurants that “use top quality ingredients, where dishes with distinct flavors are prepared to a consistently high standard” are granted one Michelin star.
At the ceremonies, Caistor Hall’s Mark Poynton received its first Michelin star.
Regarding the restaurant, the Michelin Guide stated: “The technical skill of the cuisine, demonstrated by dishes such a wonderfully seasoned red wine jus with rare aged beef, belies the concise menu descriptions.
“If there’s a chocolate dessert on the menu, then you’re in for a treat.”
The Neptune in Hunstanton, Meadowsweet in Holt, and Morston Hall in Morston all kept their Michelin stars for 2025.
Head chef at Morston Hall Galton Blackiston said: “Our mantra has always been on creating menus that are ingredient-led, with an unwavering belief in sourcing only the best ingredients, and of sourcing them seasonally.
“We’re delighted that our insistence on never compromising on our high standards has once again been recognized by the judging panel at Michelin.
“We would like to thank the judges for yet again confirming our star status.”
Morston Hall has now retained its Michelin star for 26 years.
The Wildebeest in Stoke Holy Cross was also given a Bib Gourmand at the awards which is handed to restaurants that display both good quality and good value cooking.
