Are you interested in exploring the top trails that the National Park Service has to offer? Consider these national parks, ranked best for hiking, with over 44,000 combined miles to choose from.
According to the Utah-based shoe brand KURU, it filtered down over 4,155 combined trails across 63 national parks to identify the “Top 10 Best National Parks for Hiking” based on the total number of trails, trail length, average trail rating, number of yearly visitors, and park area.
The North Country Trail, which extends 4,600 miles over eight states, is the longest trail in the National Park System. With only one, 2-mile-long route, Gateway Arch National Parks in St. Louis was rated the lowest of all the national parks for hiking.
Yosemite received the top spot for the second year in a straight. It was one of the top 15 most visited sites in the National Park System in 2017 and made The Family Vacation Guide’s list of the best national parks for families to visit this summer.
